Pixeom, a startup originating from Oita University, has closed a seed round of funding with Lifetime Ventures acting as the underwriter. Through this financing, the company will fully build its business foundation aimed at the R&D and societal implementation of its proprietary "Chemical Vision AI."
Pixeom is a company aiming to build a new drug discovery and chemical research infrastructure that fuses AI with molecular structure analysis, originating from university research achievements. Utilizing its proprietary molecular representation technology, "PSM (Proximity Score Matrix)," the company converts three-dimensional molecular structures into numerical representations that AI can learn from, working to advance molecular structure recognition and analysis, physical property and activity prediction, and molecular design.
The funds raised will be primarily allocated to R&D environments and capital investment to accelerate AI-based analysis and learning. Specifically, the company will promote the improvement of implementation and verification speeds for PSM technology, prototype verification with joint research partners, and the construction of a data analysis infrastructure. Moving forward, the company plans to accelerate the societal implementation of its "Chemical Vision AI" as a common infrastructure in the field of drug discovery research.
