JAOPS, a provider of operational infrastructure for space missions, has announced that it has raised a total of 260 million yen in a seed round. The funding was led by UntroD Capital and Midtown Frontier Fund. Having already provided operational services to customers in Japan, Spain, France, the UK, South Korea, and the United States, the company will use the newly secured funds to accelerate its global business expansion.
JAOPS is a space operations company providing tools, simulators, and mission control infrastructure for satellite and space mission operators. By leveraging open-source software to build flexible operational systems, the company aims to deliver "Operations as a Service (OaaS)," enabling customers to achieve highly reliable mission operations without having to build a complete in-house operational framework. Furthermore, JAOPS has been selected for JAXA's Space Strategic Fund and grants from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, playing a vital role in strengthening Japan's space operation capabilities.
Part of the raised funds will be allocated to construct the company's first Mission Control Center (MCC). Additionally, JAOPS will strengthen the development of various tools and simulators designed to support space mission operations worldwide. Through these initiatives, the company aims to contribute to enhancing the operational capabilities of the entire space industry in a global market where demand for outsourced mission operations is rapidly growing.
